Some of your instructors may ask you to comment on other students' submitted assignments or discussions in CarmenCanvas, which is known as a peer review. Below, you will find information on finding peer review assignments or discussions in Carmen, providing peer review feedback for your classmates, and viewing peer review comments on your assignments or discussions.

Locating peer review activity in Carmen

When your instructor assigns a peer review as part of a CarmenCanvas assignment or discussion, you will receive a notification in several locations:

• on the Recent Activity view of the Dashboard
• in your To Do list
• on the specific assignment/discussion

Click the Peer Review link from any of those locations to begin the peer review.

Submit a peer review in Carmen

To complete an assignment or discussion peer review, you must review your classmate's assignment or discussion and add a comment in the comment sidebar.

If your instructor includes a rubric, which is a pre-determined outline of criteria for how an assignment is graded, you must assign a grade using the rubric. Your instructor may also ask you to leave additional comments in the comment sidebar.

Some peer reviews may also be anonymous, which means you cannot view the student's name whose assignment you are reviewing. Additionally, your classmate cannot see your name as the reviewer when you leave a comment to complete the review.

Viewing peer feedback in Carmen

When a peer has provided feedback on your assignment, you will receive a notification in the Recent Feedback section in the sidebar of your Canvas course. Feedback is also accessible via the assignment's submission details or on the individual assignment page.
