Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Secured Media Library

Caution

In June 2025, Learning Systems staff began working to bring existing media in the Secured Media Library into compliance with the Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Films that did not meet the new accessibility standards were taken offline and will be returned to their owners beginning in 2027, if not remediated before then. If a film you want to use in your class is offline in the SML, review all options for streaming media before beginning the remediation process.

Shortened class times and the continued move away from physical media has made it difficult to show media in class. Ohio State's Secured Media Library is an online portal for securely streaming media to your students outside of class. Instructors can access media from within the repository with the ability to assign media for students to access from home or on the go as homework or review.
