The Proctorio Extension should update automatically in Chrome, however if this does not occur, users should:
- Uninstall the Chrome extension, see directions here.
- Then reinstall the extension, download the extension here.
How do I know if I need to update the extension?
Students
When a student attempts to take an exam with an out of date extension, they should receive an error message that their extension is out of date when they try to start an exam.
Faculty
Faculty use the extension when editing and viewing results, not when starting an exam, so no error message is seen. If Proctorio is enabled in their course, they are using Chrome and the extension is installed, and it is still not working, then the next step would be to update the extension.
