CarmenCanvas Terms of Use

All Ohio State instructors, students and staff are eligible to use CarmenCanvas for purposes related to the mission of the university. This series of articles, and the policies below, provide details about what is expected of Carmen users, as well as what users can expect from the Carmen system and the eLearning Support team.

Accessibility

Carmen course content must be accessible to all users. This means that course materials should be accessible by screen-reading technology and all multimedia (audio/video) files should have a text alternative. Instructors should also take into account how their materials will display on the smaller screens of mobile devices.

Visit the Web Accessibility Center (WAC) for tutorials and instructions about creating accessible content.

Promotion of University Events on the Carmen Site

Carmen is widely used to support the university's mission of teaching and learning. Due to this visibility, we are frequently asked whether promotional information or announcements about university events can be placed on Carmen pages.

Carmen News items and announcements areas are reserved for information related to Carmen or how it functions in relation to other university systems. We do not accept requests from departments or groups promoting an event or message.
