Using Zoom in Carmen

CarmenZoom is a web conferencing tool that provides a virtual meeting space, including break-out rooms, screen-sharing with annotations and the ability to record meetings.

The Zoom integration for CarmenCanvas allows instructors to schedule online meetings from within Carmen. Both students and instructors are able to view upcoming meetings, previous meetings, and view cloud recordings.

Caution

Students using assistive technology may experience issues with the Zoom Canvas integration. Learn more about accessibility in Zoom.

Features

  • create, join and delete a Zoom meeting
  • automatically add meetings to the course calendar and the syllabus
  • automatically create a Canvas Conversations (Inbox) notification

These meetings can be used to help facilitate collaborative work within a course including:

  • virtual office hours using recurring meetings

Enable Zoom in Course Navigation

The Zoom link is hidden from your course navigation by default. You must enable the Zoom widget in Carmen.

Follow the directions to enable navigation links in your course. The widget is titled Zoom.
