CarmenBooks: Communicate with Students

Students will receive an automated email from the Registrar’s office the day after they register for a course that uses CarmenBooks.  

Additionally, we recommend mentioning that the course uses CarmenBooks in your syllabus and making your syllabus available on syllabus.osu.edu.

FAQs

What should I put in my Syllabus?

CarmenBooks has a sample syllabus that is distributed to participating faculty before each term. If you enroll in the program, you will receive it and can insert details relevant to your text (author, title, edition, etc.) 

What options do students have for participating? 

Students can opt-out if they want or need to. However, students are still required to purchase the materials selected for the course and are expected to complete all coursework required, including all assignments within external homework systems. 

We strive to ensure only the most affordable and best options for students are included in the CarmenBooks program. Because of this, our opt-out rate is less than 1%.
