If your course includes Mediasite presentations, you will need the browser settings listed below. These settings are good overall practices in courses where both Carmen and Mediasite are used.
Please use the most up-to-date version of your browser.
In all browsers, you will need to allow third-party cookies; some allow this by default and some do not. If you don't want to allow all third-party cookies, you can manage exceptions in your browser settings. Be sure to include mediasite.osu.edu, mediasite.it.ohio-state.edu, and webauth.service.ohio-state.edu.
Often, simply refreshing the page in Carmen will correct playback issues. If that does not work, check settings or try using a different browser.
Not using the settings listed will result in playback issues.

Additional best practices
- If you access recordings in Carmen, check both Mediasite and Carmen browser compatibility. See Mediasite's webpages about viewing requirements and supported browsers. If necessary, also visit Supported Browsers and Systems webpages. Passing or failing system check does not guarantee functionality, but ensures nothing important is missing from your setup.
- Keep in mind your bandwidth. Low bandwidth and slow or spotty wireless access can interfere with playback. If you normally use a wireless connection but are having playback problems, try a wired connection if possible. If you experience problems at home, a possible solution is contacting your Internet service provider to explore options for increasing bandwidth.
- Be aware of the device you are using. It is possible to access Carmen and Mediasite on a mobile device, but it is not recommended for situations that require a strong, steady internet connection. In these cases, you should use a wired internet connection.
