Issue
This is how Ally describes this issue:
- The HTML content contains broken links.
Broken links are frustrating for everyone, but they can be especially confusing for students using assistive technologies like screen readers. The Ally scanner identifies broken links and flags these errors for you.
Quick Fix
Update or remove broken links in CarmenCanvas.
To apply the quick fix:
- Locate the issue named “The HTML content contains broken links.”
- Select that issue to retrieve a list of pages with broken links.
- Select the Ally Accessibility Indicator icon to begin the fix. A snapshot of the page will appear on the left of your screen, and the Instructor Feedback panel will be on the right.
- The Instructor Feedback panel displays the broken links on the page. Update each link with a valid destination or remove it until an appropriate replacement is available.
- When you have updated or removed a broken link, Instructor Feedback will move to the next broken link in the page. If there are no further broken links, Instructor Feedback will switch to the next issue on the page (for example, adding missing alternative text).
- Close the issue and move to the next item in your list.
