Enable Portfolios in Orton

In order to enable the Portfolio area of the Orton theme, follow the instructions below.

You must enable the Custom Content Type widget within Jetpack in order to use the Portfolio template page, create slideshows and create projects. 

Please know you may wish to deactivate this widget if you switch themes. The Portfolio link remains when the theme is switched, but the link will not work as expected.

  1. Navigate to your U.OSU site.
  2. Change the site's theme to Orton.
  3. If not already activated on your site, activate the Jetpack Plugin. See Jetpack for details on the Jetpack plugin.
  4. Click Jetpack from the left-side Main Menu.

  5. Choose Settings from the expanded menu. The Jetpack Settings page displays.

  6. Scroll over Custom Content Type. The word "Activate" displays.

  7. Click Activate.
  8. Click Settings from the left-side Main Menu.

  9. Select Writing from the expanded navigation. The "Your Custom Content Type" section displays at the bottom of the page.

  10. Choose the number of projects to display on the portfolio pages.
  11. Click Save.
    You are now ready to begin using the Orton theme. See Portfolios for additional setup information.
