The Colleges of Medicine, Optometry, and Pharmacy have purchased and deployed Echo360’s EchoVideo for lecture capture and hosting to be used in CarmenCanvas, ScarletCanvas, and for departmental websites. EchoVideo allows for embedded polls in pre-recorded lectures to promote active processing of materials and has a CarmenZoom integration to automatically admit Zoom recordings into the platform.
EchoVideo was reviewed both for security and digital accessibility. As a result of these reviews, the colleges and units are following standard operating procedures for use of the tool with guidance and approval from Ohio State's ADA Coordinator's Office.
Help for Students
If you are a student and you're having an issue watching a video or using the platform, follow the steps below.
- First, review the appropriate articles below about browser configurations.
- Safari - go.osu.edu/echosafari
- Firefox - go.osu.edu/echofirefox
- Chrome - go.osu.edu/echochrome
- If your browser has been configured correctly and you are still having issues viewing videos, try clicking and dragging the video’s playhead (on the video timeline/playbar) and dragging it forward (‘scrubbing’) for about 10 seconds.
- If neither of these steps have worked, it might be a larger issue within Carmen. Please read this page to ensure that the tools you're using inside Carmen work.
If the issue persists, please contact support@echo360.com.
